About the role

The Administration Officer - Safeguarding & HR provides administrative support to the Professional Standards & Safeguarding Office and the Human Resource Office on a full-time basis. This support involves updating and monitoring of databases, effectively communicating with clergy, staff and volunteers, processing short-term ministry applications and conducting personnel screening for employees and volunteers.

The Administration Officer - Safeguarding & HR is responsible for: 

  • Providing administrative support for safeguarding and human resource functions, including records management, compliance monitoring, recruitment, onboarding, and screening processes.
  • Supporting parishes, clergy, employees, volunteers, and Parish Safeguarding Representatives by providing information, guidance, training coordination, and administrative assistance.
  • Maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, monitoring compliance requirements, and assisting with audits and safeguarding activities.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and adhering to Diocesan policies and procedures.

What we're looking for

  • Experience working in an administration role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Child Safe Standards (desirable)
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the safety, wellbeing and dignity of children and adults at risk
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism 
  • An active participant in the Catholic Church and/or lifestyle aligned with Church values and teachings
