Gladstone Community Linking Agency (GCLA) is seeking compassionate, reliable and flexible Aged Care Support Workers to join our team across Gladstone and surrounding areas.

This role provides practical, person-centred support to older people living in the community, helping them maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

About the Role

As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will provide individualised support to older people living in their own homes and within the community.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Personal care and daily living assistance

• Domestic assistance and household tasks

• Meal preparation

• Community access and social support

• Transport to appointments, shopping and activities

• Medication assistance, where trained and authorised

• Supporting customers to maintain their independence and wellbeing

• Following individual care and support plans

• Building positive and respectful relationships with customers and their families

• Completing required documentation and progress notes

You will work across Gladstone and surrounding areas, travelling between customers as required.

Working Hours

We are looking for applicants with flexible and reliable availability to meet the needs of our Aged Care customers.

Shifts may include:

• Weekdays and weekends

• Public holidays

• Early mornings, daytime and afternoon shifts

Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate broad and ongoing availability, particularly across multiple days of the week.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated people who genuinely enjoy supporting older people and are committed to delivering respectful, person-centred care.

Essential Requirements

• Genuine passion for supporting older people to maintain their independence

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Reliable, comprehensively insured motor vehicle

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Gladstone and surrounding areas

• Ability to meet relevant worker screening and employment requirements

Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Aged Care or a related qualification

• Previous experience working in Aged Care or community-based support

• Experience providing personal care, domestic assistance and community support

• Experience supporting older people with varying or complex care needs
