About the role
We are accepting applications for an experienced Aircrew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team in Rockhampton, supporting our operations with Cap Rescue and Queensland Health.
As part of this role you will:
- Maintain flying currency and conduct safe flight operations complying with CASR, contractual and company policies and procedures;
- Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
- Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
- Interact successfully with aircrew, client staff, health staff, members of the general public and stakeholders;
- Operate safely and efficiently in a small team environment;
- Assist the medical team where required and within the boundaries of your ability;
- Provide accurate visual observation and information to the Pilot of flight relevant data including clearances, personnel movements and flight safety related issues;
- Maintain readiness of operational role equipment;
- Perform the duties of an Aircrew Officer/Winch Operator during HEMS and SAR missions;
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
- Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
- Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment.
Essential requirements:
- Five hundred (500) hours rotary wing experience as an ACO (minimum)
- Winching/rappelling endorsement and experience,
- Current HUET/ HUET & EBS qualification,
- Senior First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation,
- DG Aware or DG Pack and Accept Air,
- NVG hoisting experience,
- Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate of Proficiency, (AROC),
- CASA Class 2 Medical Certificate,
- Certificate IV Aviation AVI40116 (Aircrewman) or AVI40119 (Aircrew Officer),
- Meet the requirements of the Queensland Health Preventable Diseases Policy; and
- Ability to relocate to Rockhampton.
Desirable requirements:
- Bell 412 experience
- AW139 experience
