Airline Duty Manager

WINKEL Aviation Services is an Australian owned and operated company that provides ground servicing for charter and airline operations at Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, Longreach, and Barcaldine airports. We are a group of dedicated people with proven excellence through safe, reliable, and honest work. Our team of 28 at Rockhampton services 260+ QantasLink and Qantas Freight services monthly, and many more ad hoc charter services and diversions throughout the year.

We are currently seeking an Airline Duty Manager to join our team at our Rockhampton Regional Airport location. We are offering a highly motivated person with leadership experience a career in an exciting, fast paced industry.  

 

The Airline Duty Managers position purpose is to:

  • Lead and direct WINKEL Aviation Services operations and support the Airport Manager.
  • Plan and manage delivery of the company's airline operation schedule.
  • Manage systems and processes that will safely, efficiently and effectively meet the company's visions and values.

Additionally, the Duty Manager is responsible for:

  • The day-to-day operational management both above and below the wing.
  • Provide leadership for the operation, it's people, processes, policies and contracts.

 

Major duties include but are not limited to: 

  • All aspects of people management including staff development, leadership and shift debriefs.
  • A strong focus on On Time Performance, best practice, operational excellence and knowledge of the airline industry.
  • Stakeholder engagement.
  • “Safety First, Always” commitment and attitude.
  • Experience, understanding and execution of Safety Management Systems.
  • Risk Management and Assessment.
  • Managing security related issues.
  • Impeccable Customer Management.
  • Promoting Airlines and Company expectations.

 

To be successful in this position you must:

  • Be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol screening result.
  • Hold a current State drivers licence.
  • Hold a current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Have leadership and management experience in a similar role.
  • Have previous experience with airline systems.
  • Be able to work a rotational roster that may include some weekends, some public holidays and/or split shifts when required.
  • Be able to work shifts that may start as early as 05:00 or finish as late as 22:00.
  • Exceed all mandatory uniform, grooming and presentation requirements.
