Job Description

WINKEL Aviation Services agents for QantasLink have vacancies at our Rockhampton Regional Airport location. We're looking for highly motivated candidates seeking work in an exciting, fast-paced environment.  The successful applicants will be trained in all aspects of Airline operations. Your duties may include all or some of the following:

 Airside Service Operator: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Baggage handling, including loading and unloading Aircraft

  • Marshalling Aircraft onto Parking Bays

  • Unloading, loading baggage and freight

  • Operating Aircraft service equipment, including Aircraft stairs, Tow vehicles and Passenger assistance devices.

  • Freight consignment/ dedicated Aircraft Freighter Ground Handling. 

  • Cabin Cleaning on the arrival of the terminating aircraft.

  • Opportunities to gain experience across multiple areas of airport operations, including Customer Service, check-in and Qantas Regional Lounge hosting.

To be successful in this position, you must have the following:

  • Employees must hold a current State driver's license.

  • Employees must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

  • Demonstrates willingness to obtain a Responsible Alcohol License (RSA) for Lounge hosting tasks.

  • Available to travel away for initial training.

  • Willing to work a rotating roster over 7 days. Some split shifts.

  • Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

  • Whilst all training is provided, previous experience with airline systems would be advantageous.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • A mature approach when dealing with customers with special needs.

  • Work without direct supervision. 

  • Possesses great time management skills.

  • Impeccable grooming and presentation.

  • Ability to work safely and adhere to safe work practices.

  • To be physically fit and able to lift a maximum of 32kg repetitively. 

  • Accept responsibility, make decisions, and take initiatives.

  • Work outdoors.

  • Communicate via ground-to-air radio (existing AROC desirable)
