Asphalt & Bitumen Crew Member / Plant Operator

Tanners Bitumen & Asphalt – Yeppoon, QLD

Tanners Bitumen & Asphalt is a locally owned and operated road maintenance and civil construction company servicing Yeppoon, Rockhampton, and the wider Central Queensland region. We deliver high-quality asphalt, bitumen, and linemarking projects with a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking Asphalt and Bitumen Crew Members / Plant Operators to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to reliable individuals who enjoy outdoor work and want to build a long-term career in the civil and road surfacing industry.

Key Responsibilities 🚧

  • Assist with asphalt laying, raking, and finishing operations

  • Support bitumen spray sealing and pavement works

  • Operate mobile plant including rollers, skid steers (bobcats), and asphalt pavers

  • Drive company trucks to transport materials and equipment (licence dependent)

  • Perform site preparation, clean-up, and general labouring duties

  • Work safely and effectively as part of a professional crew

About You ✅

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work within a team

  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors

  • Willing to work overtime, night shifts, and weekends when required

  • Hold a current driver licence and reliable transport

  • Committed to maintaining a safe work environment

Highly Regarded (but not essential) ⭐

  • Experience in asphalt, bitumen, spray sealing, or civil construction

  • MR, HR or HC truck licence

  • Experience operating rollers, skid steers (bobcats), or asphalt pavers

  • Construction White Card

  • Traffic Control tickets
