About the Role
Bowen Rail Company is growing, and we are seeking an Asset Engineer - Track to join our Network team. Reporting to the Asset Management Principal, in this role you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the strategic track asset management plans incorporating OPEX and CAPEX for the Carmichael Rail Network.

  • Promote and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, codes, and procedures.
  • Provide project scopes for mechanised maintenance works based on inspection data to support the asset management plan. 
  • Review the accuracy of asset register and configuration systems and coordinate updates as required.
  • Determine functional scope requirements for input into Capital Project Development.
  • Manage asset lifecycle phases including concept, design, installation, handover operation, and disposal.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance and review of the long-term asset management plans.
  • Develop and implement predictive asset condition modelling tools.
  • Conduct engineering and technical investigations and prepare reports.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Technical Maintenance Plans and Procedures in line with Asset Performance.
  • Undertake technical assurance activities, including design reviews, to ensure compliance with Bowen Rail Company and industry standards and safety regulations.

 

About You
Core Capabilities

Essential 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in track maintenance/ construction or related industry. 
  • Tertiary Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of Asset Management standards. 
  • Current Open ‘C’ Class Driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of rail safety standards, rules, and procedures. 
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance documents including manuals and drawings. 
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise deadlines. 
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills. 
Desirable
  • SARC – Safely Access the Rail Corridor 
  • RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Identification) 
  • General Construction Induction 
  • RPEQ or be on the pathway to attaining
