Assistant Accountant

Job Description

Vereco is a leading landscaping & revegetation company, committed to delivering exceptional services and products to our clients. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our growing finance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
  • Prepare and process invoices and payments
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage payroll for 60+ employees
  • Preparation of BAS/IAS Statements
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Provide general administrative support 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is essential
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software such as Xero is a plus
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
