Salmon Earthmoving is seeking a skilled and qualified Auto-Electrician to join our team in a site-based position at projects across the Bowen Basin. As an Auto-Electrician, you will play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems on heavy mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on Caterpillar heavy equipment.
• Repairing or replacing faulty wiring, fuses, sockets, and other electrical components.
• Installing new electrical systems and ensuring their functioning correctly.
• Testing vehicle lighting, charging, and starting systems for efficiency and safety.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify complex electrical problems.
• Troubleshooting and maintaining air-conditioning systems.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure all work is conducted in compliance with industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all electrical repairs and installations.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (essential).
• Valid Australian Manual Driver’s Licence.
• A/C Certification and Licence.
• QLD Coal Board Medical and S11 (desirable).
• Proven experience on CAT diagnostic systems or similar.
• Previous experience in an open-cut mining environment.
• Ability to carry our performance testing and adjustments after repairs.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug and Alcohol Assessment.
• A strong commitment to WHS policies and procedures.
