Barista Trainer and Assessor – Casual

Casual role based in our Berserker office.

National Joblink is seeking a passionate and motivated Barista Trainer and Assessor to join our small, highly motivated professional and friendly team Barista skills to local participants.

This will be a fun and fulfilling role, empowering the minds of participants with the hands-on skills and knowledge required for them to succeed in their chosen field of study.

 About Us:
National Joblink (NJL) is a not-for-profit organisation serving local communities for over 30 years throughout Tasmania and Queensland. Today we provide a suite of services under the framework of Workforce Australia, are a specialised RTO, have a successful training restaurant in Cairns and a Café in Launceston, provide outdoor activities at our Tarkine Wilderness Lodge and conduct Driving Schools.

  Essential Criteria:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent/higher (mandatory)

  • SITHFAB025 – Prepare and Serve Express Coffee

  • SITXFSA001 - Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety

  • Hospitality qualification backed up with industry experience

  • Barista experience

 About you:

  • Self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and energetic, with a positive outlook

  • Self-starter with excellent organisation, communication, and people skills, both verbal and written, with a high attention to detail

  • Strong relationship builder with and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people from all walks of life

  • High professional and ethical standards

  • Strong administration and computer skills (MS Office)

  • Current vocational currency and competencies in Hospitality

  • Knowledge of Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) 2015

  • Maintain professional development as per ASQA requirements, including maintaining industry currency and vocational competencies to the level of delivery and assessment

  • Ability to contribute to the operations and "I can make a difference attitude" 

  • Be familiar and able to comply with the Inter-cultural awareness and have a flexible attitude

  • Thrive on handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

   Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop a network of Workforce Australia contacts, stakeholders, and other prospective customers to grow sales

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships internally and externally

  • Actively market scheduled courses and programs to Workforce Australia contacts, stakeholders and other prospective customers

  • Develop opportunities to successful enrolment

  • Deliver training and assessment to students, face-to-face in a classroom, in the workplace and online 

  • Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and employers, as required 

  • Maintain student records to ensure compliance 

  • Attend regular meetings with key clients and stakeholders 

  • Assist with compliance requirements in relation to learning and assessment resources

  • Maintain a high level of personal presentation
