Job Description

Walz is currently seeking a position for Blaster Painters and Labourers based in Gladstone for site shutdown and shop works to be able to comply with high safety standards and quality site specifications.

About the Job:

  • Mobilise and demobilising blasting hoppers/spray pumps and encapsulations

  • Abrasive blast, ranging from a whip class SA 3 on ferrous and nonferrous substrates using both garnet and steel abrasives

  • Brush/Roll stripe coats as required.

  • Using mainly airless spray, apply up to 3 coats systems required DFT's/specifications

  • Application of; Inorganic zinc's, Epoxy zinc's, High build epoxies, Antifouls and Acrylic polyurethanes.

  • Remediate areas marked up by quality inspectors to meet the requirements of clients' specification.

  • Keep a safe and tidy work area and product storage

  • Perform other general duties if required

About You:

·         Experience working in a mining environment in a similar position

·         Strong safety standards

·         Problem solving and decision-making skills

·         Great communication and interpersonal skills

·         Confined Spaces

·         Gas Test Atmospheres

·         Working at Heights

·         Forklift Ticket (desirable)
