Boilermaker

Essjay Contracting Pty Ltd is a family owned Civil Contracting business based in Rockhampton, QLD. We deliver a large fleet of heavy earth moving machinery, trucks and light plant to a range of projects in the private, mining, commercial and government sectors. Our project commitments are located throughout Central & Western Queensland & the Bowen Basin. 

The Boilermaker role is a full-time permanent position with roster to be negotiated upon application. The position is based in Rockhampton but will require travel to project sites when required. 

About The Role:

As a Boilermaker with Essjay Contracting, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment essential to civil and mining operations. This role involves working in a dynamic team environment, collaborating with site personnel to achieve safety and performance targets.

What You'll Do:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across our fleet.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures.
• Conduct welding and cutting operations using various techniques and equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement modifications or repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.

What You'll Bring:

• Australian Boilermaker trade qualification
• A minimum of 2 years post trade experience
• Experience in sheet and heavy metal fabrication
• Demonstrate ability to work with various metals
• Valid Australian Drivers Licence and White Card
• Heavy repair and fabrication experience on mining equipment 
• Capable of working autonomously and efficiently managing tasks and priorities.
• Proven Commitment to Safety with a high attention to detail and abide by site safety processes.
• High levels of initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong commitment towards safety and quality
• High Risk Work Licence: Forklift and EWP is beneficial
