Job Description

Harris Engineering Services CQ is expanding delivery of services across Central Queensland and is seeking a qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator and an Apprentice Boilermaker to join our team. Quality is not simply a requirement – it underpins how we operate, supported by robust quality control and assurance systems and a safety-first culture.

 

Position Overview

This role involves workshop and site-based fabrication, welding, and maintenance works across a diverse range of engineering projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety, quality, and professional standards.

To be a successful candidate, you will have:

  • Trade Qualification will be highly regarded

  • Strong Mig and fabrication experience

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Current confined space and Working at Heights tickets (completed within the last 2 years)

  • Proven track record working in cutting, welding and fabricating

  • Strong work ethic with a reliable, positive and collaborative approach

  • Ability to troubleshoot, take initiative and adapt to changing priorities

  • Confident to work both autonomously and as a part of a team

  • Effective time management skills

  • Reliable personal transport

  • Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential)

Preferred but not essential experience in fixed plant

  • Experience working in fixed plant environments (highly regarded)

  • Standard 11

  • Coal Board Medical (Support to obtain may be available for the right candidate)

Hours & Pay

  • Monday to Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm (38 hours per week)

  • Overtime may be available as required

  • Competitive hourly rate + superannuation
