About the role:
Our Coal Business Unit currently has a permanent full-time opportunity for a Boilermaker to join our Gladstone team as a Wagon Maintainer II. As part of the Operations CQCN maintenance division, you will work in small teams to perform maintenance and modification on rollingstock and any associated equipment according to operational standards.
Working an Attractive roster, you will get the unique experience to work on our heavy haul wagons performing wheel changes, weld repairs, reliability examinations and break down work
You will be responsible for:
- Performing complex troubleshooting, fault rectification duties, repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock, components and associated equipment to meet the operational requirements of the specific location.
- Supervising, mentoring, and assisting the development of apprentices and Wagon Maintainers.
- Carry out duties in a safe manner in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) Act.
- Utilise and input accurate data into information and Maintenance Management Systems.
- Field maintenance of rollingstock including derailment recovery
About you:
- The successful applicant must be a qualified Boilermaker.
- High level of skill in trouble shooting, fault rectification, minor repairs and the carrying out of preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock or similar equipment.
- Substantial skills in working in a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to work a rotating shift roster
- Sound level of skills in oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Wagon maintenance experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
