We're in search of a motivated and dynamic individual to step into the role of Box Office Team Leader at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC). This is your chance to significantly influence the cultural encounters of our local community.

About this opportunity:

As the largest regional entertainment and convention centre spanning between Cairns and Brisbane, the MECC is currently on the lookout for a capable Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our Box Office. This position is a temporary job share role, currently 3 days per week Wednesday, Thursday & Friday until February 2026

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Proven track record in leadership and supervision.
  • Proficiency in banking procedures, including money handling.
  • Familiarity with in-house and nationwide ticketing systems or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
  • Demonstrated understanding of office administration procedures and finance.
  • Basic grasp of Human Resource Management principles.
  • Preferred familiarity with theatre and the arts.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
  • PAID - Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with ChildrenBlue Card. Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment - No Card, No Start policy.     In return for your valued contribution, you will receive:

    • Base hourly rate of $43.86.
    • Temporary job share, 36.25 hours per fortnight until February 2026.
    • 11.5% superannuation.
    • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading (pro rata basis).
