Established in 2007, FSA is a truly national business with both training and Medical and Emergency response personnel in every state and territory of Australia. With the recent acquisition of Sharp 5 Training, FSA is expanding its presence in the Mackay and Bowen Basin region, and we are looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive this growth.

The Opportunity:

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team in Mackay & the Bowen Basin region. This role is critical in supporting FSA’s expansion following our acquisition of Sharp 5 Training, as we continue to strengthen our presence in the region. You will manage existing client relationships and actively seek new business opportunities across the safety and emergency response sectors.

About the Role:

 

As a Business Development Manager, you will:

 

  • Manage and grow a strong client base
  • Identify new business opportunities in safety and emergency response training
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the National Sales Manager to drive business growth
  • Support clients end-to-end, ensuring an exceptional experience
  • Work across diverse industries, including Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, Defence, Government, and Infrastructure
  • Travel and business development responsibilities across Central and North QLD including- Mackay/Gladstone/Rockhampton/Mine sites in the Bowen Basin/ Townsville 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement growth strategies and plans
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Identify and secure new sales opportunities
  • Prepare business proposals and negotiate contracts
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity
  • Maintain accurate sales data in Salesforce CRM
  • Report on sales performance and areas for improvement

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Development, ideally in selling to the mining industry, RTO or safety industry 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using CRM tools, ideally Salesforce
  • A proactive, results-driven attitude with a client-focused approach
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to compliance and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
