CASUAL OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE
NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint a Casual Occupational Health Nurse to join our onsite Health Centre. As a casual, the successful candidate will need to be flexible and available for leave coverage and peak workloads.
This role is for the Gladstone Power Station to provide exceptional service, consistent quality and attention to detail in the delivery of employment-related health assessments and occupational health initiatives, injury and illness management, onsite health care and monitoring, mental health and wellbeing support, manage rehabilitation and return to work and occupational health and hygiene systems, under the guidance of our Health Specialist.
Occupational Health Nurse duties include but not limited to:

Occupational Health Assessments including pre-employment medicals, periodic medicals, Exit medicals, audiometry, spirometry, drug screening and health monitoring.

Assessing, treating/triaging and monitoring injuries and illness.

Return to work assessment and rehabilitation plans and reviews for work and home injury/illness. Submitting Workcover claims and information where required.

Conducting Drug and Alcohol testing.

Mental health and wellbeing support liaising with EAP services.

Timely and accurate reporting.

High level compliance and observation of privacy and confidentiality.

Monitoring and maintaining stock levels & equipment.

Coordinating calibration of medical equipment.

Administering Immunisations.

Compliance with quality and safety standards.
This role requires a good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety practices, OSHA record keeping and an ability to maintain and follow occupational health procedures to ensure that all identified health concerns are identified early and managed appropriately.
The successful applicant must be a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration in Australia. It is desirable to have experience working in an Occupational Health Industry role for a minimum of 3 - 5 years or alternatively nurses who have medical centre experience.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

Experience or Qualification in Audiometry and Spirometry

Experience or Qualification in Drug and Alcohol Screening.

Current Advanced First Aid and Resuscitation.

Desirable - Certificate in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support

Intermediate to strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel. Experience desirable in Best Practice software.

Knowledge of Workcover and return to work rehabilitation.

Ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build rapport.

Highly developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
