Childcare Lead Educator | Kawana

At Journey Early Learning, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Lead Educator to join our Kawana team. This is a permanent part-time role in the Toddler room, Monday to Friday, where you’ll make a genuine difference in children’s lives while supporting and guiding your fellow educators.

About the Centre

At Journey Early Learning Kawana, we are a two-building service, that really has that home away from home feeling. As you walk through our doors you can see the relationships and connections our experienced team have with our families and community, and the purposeful spaces and resources that allow children to connect to their home environments. Journey Early Learning Kawana has a brand new kitchen, programming and Staff retreat room and not to mention 9 spacious room and 6 outdoor environments for the children and Educators to truly explore.

Your Role

As our Lead Educator, you’ll play an important role in shaping the learning environment and leading a team that’s committed to providing the best possible outcomes for children. You’ll combine creativity, care and leadership to ensure high-quality programs are delivered every day.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance
  • Lead and implement engaging, high-quality programs
  • Mentor and support educators to deliver meaningful learning experiences
  • Oversee and approve centre Storypark posts
  • Foster a dynamic, inclusive learning environment where creativity thrives
  • Provide constructive feedback to encourage growth and improvement
  • Collaborate with families to support each child’s learning journey

About You

You’re an inspired and motivated educator who enjoys leading by example. You thrive on supporting your team, building strong connections with children and families, and creating engaging learning environments that spark curiosity and growth.

You will bring:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or studying towards one)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain)
  • A valid Working with Children Check (state-specific)
  • Experience in leading curriculum development with a play-based focus
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • The ability to mentor others and foster a positive, collaborative team culture
  • Great time management and organisational skills
