About the role
The Mater Private Hospital Mackay is seeking applications from motivated and experienced Clinical Nurses to work within our Medical Unit in permanent, full-time, or part-time capacity.
Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds since 1927. Located on the northern bank of the Pioneer River since 2003, our hospital is a modern 105 bed facility featuring six operating theatres, a fully equipped day surgery unit, and a wide range of specialist clinical services.
Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging of up to $15,900
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse you will provide advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports management activities, including portfolio responsibilities where applicable.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirements
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess:
- Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Demonstrated nursing experience within a perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional training
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
- Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a medical ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposes
