CM Maintenance Manager - CQ

Job Description

CM Repairs are seeking a CM Maintenance Manager - CQ who is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the repairs and maintenance and workshop environments for all quarry assets.

This role will improve and support the day-to-day activities of the CM Plant and Fleet, through strengthening the structure, systems and process which will improve asset utilization, maintenance, downtime and R&M cost control improving Return on Capital. 

This position on occasions as required, may be available for travel and overnight stays depending on the workshop and quarry locations. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices.
  • Manage the team of Supervisors and Team Leaders, encouraging open communication and high performance within the teams.
  • Implement strategies in line with Maas Repairs strategic plan which contribute to the MGH company vision.
  • Align all workshop environments with systems and processes.
  • Liaise and work closely with quarry managers, manage repair schedules and workloads to reduce downtime for plant and equipment.  
  • Work within workshop rules and regulations always.
  • Implement strategies to continually improve culture and communication.
  • Liaise with senior management, Quarry Managers, supervisors, team leaders daily to implement systems and processes to improve productivity & efficiencies.
  • Report weekly and monthly to GM on workshop activities, budget planning, major asset repairs and workforce productivity.

Required skills and experience: 

  • Team leader with a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Adaptability.
  • Current drivers’ license.
  • Fully qualified with at least 4 years’ experience as a qualified Mechanic.
  • Sound knowledge of Heavy Plant and Equipment.
  • Experience in managing teams and workshops.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and work within budgets. 
  • Good computer skills.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.
