Gladstone Women's Health is a not-for-profit charity organisation that has been supporting women in the Gladstone, Biloela and Agnes Waters region. We offer a range of services, including women's support, sexual assault support, domestic violence assistance, counselling, information and referrals, well women's clinics, and legal support services
Our mission is to advance the health, safety, equality, and well-being of women and families through accessible support, advocacy, education, and social change services, in collaboration with aligned community partners.
The Opportunity

Join Gladstone Women's Health as a Community Engagement and Development Specialist, where you'll lead initiatives that foster connections, empower individuals, and make a lasting difference.
The successful candidate will lead initiatives that strengthen community partnerships, build capacity, and increase the visibility and impact of GWHC’s services. This role focuses on promoting wellbeing, equity, and safety for women and families in the Gladstone region by fostering collaboration with local stakeholders, creating community driven programs, and ensuring alignment with GWHC’s strategic priorities.
Some of the key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a Community Awareness and Engagement Strategy aligned with GWHC’s mission & strategic objectives
- Represent GWHC at community events, forums, and networking opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with community groups, local organisations, businesses, and educational institutions
- Identify and address community needs through tailored engagement and capacity building initiatives
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Sciences, Marketing, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, project management, or capacity-building initiatives
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in using digital platforms and tools for engagement, marketing, and reporting
- Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current driver’s license
Desirable Skills / knowledge
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector.
- Knowledge of the Gladstone and Banana Shire region
- Familiarity with gender equality and women’s empowerment principles
