$49p/h + superannuation + salary sacrifice

Part-time (44hrs p/fortnight)

About the role:

We are currently seeking a part-time Community Practitioner to join our team in Rockhampton. Our Community Practitioner will provide counselling and support to individuals, young people and families who are subject to child protection interventions. Successful applicants will have sound experience in case management and client support, with a track record in the delivery of professional counselling and support, sensitive to the needs of a range of clients.

What will a typical day look like? 

  • Accept referrals from State Government or other community agencies to assist families in developing knowledge and skills to provide relevant positive care for children and young people.
  • Engage young people, carers and families through the use of counselling and strength based therapeutic interventions, tools, perspectives and strategies to improve wellbeing. 
  • Promote and develop postive working relationships with stakeholders and networks to improve available supports. 
  • Support young people to manage maladaptive and challenging behaviours. 

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • Bachelor or post-graduate qualifications in Social Services, Psychology, counselling or similar are mandatory.
  • Experience in a similar counselling role is highly desirable.

Other requirements: 

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
