As the Contract Manager, you will play a vital role in leading the operational functions of our waste management and resource recovery services. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple sites within the Livingstone Shire Council, ensuring exceptional service delivery and contract management while nurturing a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This is an ideal role for a proactive leader with a strong commitment to safety, team engagement, and diversity and inclusion.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.   • Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth site operations that align with organisational goals and performance targets. Implement best practices and procedures to maintain high standards of service delivery and compliance.
  • Change Management: Drive change initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions and effective adoption of new processes.
  • Work Health & Safety: Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing by ensuring adherence to WHS standards and fostering an environment of physical and psychological health and wellbeing.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure efficient use of resources and assets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, participate in contract management meetings, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and exceptional service delivery.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Proven experience leading and managing diverse teams in an operational environment.
  • A proactive, collaborative leadership style that motivates and empowers teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a talent for prioritising tasks.
  • Analytical skills, with experience in data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Competence with computer tools, including the MS Office Suite.

 

Highly regarded additional experience:

 

  • Experience in the retail and/or logistics industries.
  • A background in waste management.
