Job Description

Are you an experienced Contracts Officer with a passion for excellence in contract administration and procurement? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on our local government operations.

About this opportunity:

The Contracts Officer helps the Mackay Regional Council achieve its operational goals by managing Council's tendering and contract functions well.

This position advises clients on how to choose and use the right tendering documents and processes. It also makes sure that risk management strategies are in place.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of knowledge in tendering, contract law and contract administration processes. Excellent skills in communicating and interacting with others, both orally and in writing, as well as writing reports will be highly regarded.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in a similar position with substantial involvement and understanding in the tendering process.
  • Experience in Local Government and/or Construction Industry procurement.
  • Experience in Contract Administration.
  • Experience in the use of computerised finance and purchasing systems e.g. Finance One, CI Anywhere, SAP.
  • QLD C Class Drivers Licence
  • Candidates who hold a qualification inLegal, Contractual or related field will be highly regarded.
