Conveyancing Officer/Law Graduate

Job Description

Property Law Centre is the conveyancing division of Kelly Legal, a law firm with offices in Mackay and Brisbane. 

The Position

We are seeking a full time Conveyancing Officer or Law Graduate to join our Conveyancing team in our Mackay office.  You should have the following qualities:

  • highly motivated with a strong work ethic;

  • ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision;

  • ability to manage multiple tasks and high volume of files;

  • positive attitude whilst working under pressure; and 

  • be a team player.

Your duties will include:

  • liaise with clients, financiers and other stakeholders;

  • electronic transactions including PEXA and OSR online;

  • preparing routine documents and conducting searches;

  • booking settlements, calculating settlement figures; and 

  • maintaining records of time, disbursements, fees, trust account transactions and billing. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have good communications skills and possess advanced written English language and numeracy skills;

  • experience with running residential conveyancing from start to finish;

  • experience with PEXA and Affinity would be preferred but not essential;

  • have competent keyboard skills and medium to advanced competency with Microsoft Office applications in particular Word and Excel;

  • have high level of organisational ability to prioritise and be capable of meeting deadlines; 

  • high commitment to client service and able to manage multiple tasks with a calm, cheerfull and can-do attitude. 

  • have an eye for detail and be able to find creative solutions to problems; and 

  • possess the ability to work as a team and maintain a high level of professionalism.
