Your new role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Coordinator of Library and Child Services to oversee the strategic, operational, and community-focused management of these essential services. You will lead a dynamic team, ensuring operational excellence, customer-focused service delivery, and the development of new programs aligned with industry best practices and legislative standards. This role requires a visionary leader who can build strong community relationships, drive revenue generation, and implement sustainable initiatives that benefit our diverse customer base.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Library Management, including service standards, funding agreements, and robust skills in operational and financial oversight.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to provide advice to management and lead the various functions within the Unit.

  • Have a collaborative approach to work well with other departments and maximise community impact.

Application Criteria

  • Degree qualification in Library and Information Management (or related discipline) and/or equivalent demonstrated experience working in a library.
  • Develop and monitor operational and capital budgets, strategic and operational plans ensuring industry best practice.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring and motivating staff to achieve outcomes in line with operational requirements.
  • Develop and implement communication and audience development strategies to promote programs and activities within the areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to oversee and support the director in managing child care operations, including the capacity to interpret and apply applicable legislation.
