About the role:

Join a purpose-driven community services organisation and lead quality, safety and continuous improvement across diverse service environments.

The Coordinator: Quality and Safety provide strategic leadership to ensure our community-based services meet best practice standards. The role oversees compliance, quality systems, risk management and continuous improvement across all operations while promoting a strong culture of safety for participants and staff.  This position can be based in Rockhampton, Gladstone or Emerald. 

What will a typical day look like?

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Quality and Safety Framework.
  • Coordinator internal and external audits, accreditation and corrective actions.
  • Identify risks, lead incident investigations, and conduct roost cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and team collaboration.
  • Promote strong safety culture and deliver training to build staff capability.
  • Provide expert advice and mentoring to senior leaders.
  • Maintain clear reporting, risk registers and stakeholder communication.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quality Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a quality and safety leadership role, preferably within community sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO, WH&S, clinical governance).
  • Demonstrated success in leading improvement initiatives and managing risk.

Other Requirements:

  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
  • Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
