Corporate Strategy Specialist

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Corporate Strategy Specialist to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to partner with the business to coordinate and facilitate the development and implementation of the organisation’s Corporate Plan, Corporate Strategies and Strategic Priorities. The role provides specialist support to project leads in delivering organisation wide strategies and plans.

The role gives you the opportunity to:

  • Work with senior leaders and gain unique oversight of the business from a strategic viewpoint

  • Gain a broader understanding of Council’s strategic drivers and influence strategic direction

  • Enhance your knowledge, skills and relationships across community, business, other local authorities, government agencies, the private sector, and the broader environment.

To be successful in the position we’re looking for someone who:

  • Role models cross functional collaboration and constructive culture

  • Loves to connect the dots between activities across the business

  • Is excited to embed Council’s strategic direction, corporate goals, and priorities into how we work

  • Understands the role of community in informing Council’s strategic planning

You will bring:

  • Degree in Business (or a related discipline) with demonstrated knowledge and skills gained through experience in corporate planning and reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and formulate solutions with attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present facts and opinions articulately, persuasively and objectively to a wide variety of audiences, including at senior management level.

  • Proven track record in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders with competing needs and priorities, to set goals, optimise productivity and achieve positive results.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, review and evaluate business strategies and plans.
