Drakes Supermarkets is a Retail industry success story. A family owned and operated private company, we are Australia's largest independently-owned supermarket chain. Due to our unprecedented growth, our stores within the Rockhampton & Emu Park area are currently seeking motivated and hard working candidates to join our supermarkets as a department manager in training!

The successful applicants will be given the necessary training and skills required to eventually progress into a management role, leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of their department.

Working as a part of an enthusiastic team, in a fast-paced supermarket environment, applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Grocery and fresh food retail knowledge (desired but not essential)
  • Capable of leading and motivating a team
  • Ability to order and cost control
  • Ability to understanding gross profit calculations
  • Ability to create rosters
  • Passion and enthusiasm, with a very "hands on" approach
  • Unparalleled commitment to customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with both team members and management
  • Ability to coach, train and performance manage team members
