About your role
As the new Development Chemist in our Technical Services team, you’ll step into a dynamic and supportive environment where initiative is valued, and innovation is encouraged. Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Laboratory, you will play a key role in supporting our commitment to a Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures

Monitoring instrumentation performance and provide technical support and training to laboratory analysts and technicians

Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation to ensure continuity of quality and throughput of analyses

Providing analytical and interpretative expertise to customers external to the laboratory

Identifying, investigating, and implementing industry leading analytical systems and practices
-
Proactively improving laboratory techniques and systems

Liaising closely with plant personnel to optimise sampling methods and same handling procedures
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

A strong commitment to personal and team safety
-
Tertiary qualification in Science (Chemistry) or an equivalent discipline
-
Strong understanding of laboratory best practices, analytical techniques, and methodologies. Experience in a NATA-accredited laboratory will be considered an advantage

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues and develop effective technical solutions

Familiarity with key laboratory systems and tools, including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

Attention to detail, as well as excellent time management and communication skills

A customer-focused mindset with a strong drive to support business outcomes

Technical expertise in at least one of the following: XRF, ICP, Ion Chromatography, GC-MS, or Auto Titration
