Rayment Excavations requires skilled and experienced Diesel Fitters to join our team in Gladstone, Queensland. We have been in business for 44 years and maintain the family values in which, this reputable company was built upon. As such, Rayment Excavations is experiencing rapid but steady growth. To support this growth, we require people that would be willing to become an integral part within the ongoing maintenance and repair of our heavy earthmoving fleet.

What you'll be doing

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including excavators, backhoes, graders, loaders, dozers, and trucks.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics on heavy machinery.

• Conduct inspections, identify potential problems, and recommend preventative maintenance measures.

• Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used.

• Collaborate with the operations team to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

What we're looking for

• Formal trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter or Mechanic

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction or mining industries

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of diesel-powered equipment

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems knowledge

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment

• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
