We are committed to providing high-quality, client centred nutrition therapy and care. We focus on creating a holistic lifestyle, and value a multi-disciplinary approach. We are generalist dietitians, who support clients with everything from chronic disease management, weight loss, malnutrition, food intolerances and allergies to paediatric clients, gut health and bariatric surgeries.

Position Summary

Our team is hiring a Dietitian to support our growing team. You will be responsible for providing high quality community-based dietetics services to individuals and groups. This position provides an opportunity to work in outreach 1-2 days a week, with all travel expenses subsidized. You will work with a varied caseload with the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings. 

At Happier Healthier we value growth and development of our dietitians, therefore you will be provided mentorship as well as opportunities to grow your position within the business. The remuneration rate for this position is based on the Health Professionals and Support Services award. At the successful completion of your 3-month probation, your remuneration rate will be reviewed. By working in the Happier, Healthier team, not only do you get to work with amazing people, but access to associated lifestyle packages – gym membership, access to the community pool and discounted movies and after 12months of being on the team we will also provide you with an all-expenses paid Dietitian Conference. 

You will work within the community to promote a multidisciplinary, client centred, strengths-based approach to care. In this position you have the benefit of full administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • To provide one-on-one consultations with clients using evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and counselling skills. 
  • Facilitate community nutrition programs. 
  • To provide one-on-one consultations with disability clients using evidence based medical nutrition therapy and counselling skills. 
  • Write reports and clinical notes and maintain accurate records. 
  • Commitment to professional development in accordance with Dietitians Australia
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Adhere to all Happier, Healthier – Nutrition & Dietetics policies and procedures 

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Excellent counselling skills. 
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build rapport with all stakeholders of Happier, Healthier – Nutrition & Dietetics
  • Ability to provide appropriate evidenced based medical nutrition therapy using a client centered approach
  • Ability to apply reflective practice within your duties and responsibilities
  • Self-Motivated with the ability to work autonomously, but also well within a team. 
  • Initiative with workplace activities and client outcomes. 
  • Intermediate to advance experience using FoodWorks, Microsoft Office and InBody, preferred but not essential

Performance Goals 

  • Efficiently and effectively manage client case load 
  • Reflective practice on clinical and counselling skills 
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner, specifically medical reports, which are to be completed prior to the end of the week
  • Communicate with all stakeholders of Happier, Healthier – Nutrition & Dietetics professionally and respectfully always
  • Ensure office is always clean and presentable. 

Scope & Limitations 

The dietitian must understand their scope of practice and limitations using the Dietitians Australia Scope of Practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Dietetic experience, preferred but not essential. New graduates welcome to apply. 
  • Dietitians Australia Membership
  • Full Drivers License
  • Preferred but not essential: 
  • Blue card 
  • Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR 

Hours

  • Full time 38 hours/week
