Position Overview:

As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals, engage in their communities, and lead fulfilling lives. You will provide compassionate care and practical assistance tailored to each participants unique needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with daily living tasks such as personal care, preparation of meals, medication management and other general household tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impacts of dementia for individuals, carers, and their support networks.
  • Promote independence, give choice, encourage inclusiveness and respect the rights and privacy of an individual with a disability through planning and creating opportunities.
  • Implement individualised care plans and ensure participants safety and well-being.
  • Proficiency in Writing detailed case notes, incident reports, sleep logs and other necessary documentation during shifts
  • Work as part of a team to ensure continuity of support to participants. 
  • Be proactive to continually educate yourself on the specific needs of participants and conditions.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • MUST be AVAILABLE for SLEEPOVER shifts
