About the role:
WorkPac is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client for a 3-month duration, Monday to Friday Roster. This role will provide technical support to MH operations and maintenance through the provision of electrical engineering services and governance that will help to provide safe and sustained operation of the plant within the site and legislated standards and to allow continuous improvement opportunities that will take advantage of new technology and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Support and review E&I asset management plan, provide guidance, expertise and direction in the implementation of recommendations.
• Works in collaboration with site and engineering discipline to identify improvement opportunities within asset management systems and processes by gathering stakeholder feedback to provide a consistent engineering support for sustainable solutions.
• Provide expert technical assurance advice and engineering support for the management and operation of Material Handling area assets.
• Develop scope of work, equipment specifications and instructions to the required standards; mark-up and or modify electrical drawings/loop sheets such as single line diagrams, control panel schematics and P&ID’s.
• Monitor and support the implementation and compliance to area specific engineering standards/performance standards and associated assurance. Maintain currency of site electrical engineering standards.
• Contributing to proactive HSE measures through HSE shares, hazard study and construct risk assessments.
• Investigate and troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and develop plans and solutions to eliminate or minimize the business impact of the failures.
• Site-based practical experience with commissioning and troubleshooting E&I issues will be highly regarded.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Tertiary qualified Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar responsibilities within the heavy industry, ideally material handling systems.
• Experience within Conveyors associated E&I insruments, iMAC monitoring and protection system, PLC and VSD is highly regarded.
• Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA)
• Safety first mindset.
• Excellent communication and efficient time management.
• Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in team and individually.
