Join Our Team as an Electrical Instrumentation Tradesperson at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL)

We have an opportunity for Electrical Instrumentation Tradespeople to apply for a full-time role in our Boiler house Maintenance team, working the 9-day fortnight roster (in accordance with current QAL practices). This role reports directly to the Supervisor – Boiler house Maintenance.

About the role

As an Electrical Instrumentation Tradesperson at QAL, you will play a pivotal role in our Safe, Stable, and Sustainable vision by:

  • Adhering to health, environmental, and community policies, systems, and procedures
  • Conducting planned and breakdown maintenance on Electrical and Instrumentation equipment, including high voltage repairs
  • Diagnosing issues and recommending effective repair methods
  • Working on complex PLC motor control and conveying systems
  • Installation, maintenance, commissioning and calibration of instruments such as pressure, flow, temperature, mass, level & motion
  • Contributing to plant stability by identifying equipment failures and suggesting improvements in maintenance routines

What you will bring

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • Demonstrated safety awareness and effective teamwork skills
  • A current Queensland Electrical License & Cert 3 in Instrumental & Control
  • Demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance 
  • Ability to plan and execute assigned tasks
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and cost-saving initiatives
