We are committed to providing high-quality water services to our community and are seeking a skilled Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to help maintain and improve our water distribution systems. This is a permanent full-time position working a 9-day fortnight based in Mackay.
About this opportunity:
As an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of electrical and mechanical systems within the water network. Working under limited direction, this position will support the Electrical Mechanical Coordinator. This specialist position focuses on reviewing designs, analysing, and providing technical expertise in your field of experience of mechanical or electrical assets in the Water Network program. Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team, the Electrical or Mechanical Engineer willadopt a forward-thinking approach when reviewing designs, delivering solutions and opportunities whilst also providing technical expertise for significant projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of pumping stations, treatment plants, and distribution systems.
Special Requirements:
- Some out of hours work and domestic travel is expected.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- QLD "C" Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
- General Construction Safety "White Card" or ability to obtain.
- First Aid certificate or ability to obtain.
- Member of Engineers Australia or eligible to become a member
- Extensive Mechanical/Electrical Engineering experience in the Water Industry, providing technical expertise and best practices.
- Strong background in asset inspection, fault finding, and asset data management systems.
- Proven ability to build trusted, collaborative relationships with stakeholders
