Overview.
Komatsu are seeking a dedicated Electrical Technical Service Representative to join our team at the Batu Hijau Mine in Sumbawa, Indonesia.
This role involves providing technical support and advisory services for our fleet of shovels, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining our strong customer relationship whilst working with our customer’s workforce to ensure that our world-class electric rope shovel machinery remains in peak performance.
Key responsibilities.

Promote safe work practices and identify improvements to minimize safety risks.

Support planning and scheduling requirements as needed by the Mine Owner.

Attend weekly planning meetings to align activities with the Mine Owner’s representative.

Support continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with the Mine Owner's Maintenance Reliability Team.

Provide direct advisory and support services for major projects, including periodic shovel shutdowns.

Facilitate and coordinate technical advice between the OE Product Support Team and the Mine Owner’s representative.

Update the Component Tracking System for all major component changes to the fleet.

Ensure product bulletins are widely distributed to the correct Mine Owner representative.

Review and manage part warranty claims submitted by the Mine Owner.
Qualifications & experience required.

TAFE equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering trade.

Minimum 5 years of practical site (mine) based experience.

Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with maintenance and troubleshooting experience on heavy equipment or mining machinery.

Exposure to an open cut mine environment and previous experience as a service engineer is highly regarded.

Experience in a heavy engineering workshop and knowledge of assembly and manufacturing techniques is beneficial.

This role is based in Sumbawa, Indonesia on a 6 week on / 2 week off FIFO rotation.
You’ll be provided with comfortable camp and recreational facilities including a sports club, supermarket and great restaurants. You’ll also be afforded and up to seven return trips home per annum.
