Electrical Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to join our Gladstone Power Station client, on site in Gladstone, Queensland. This position will be full time permanent, direct with the client. Hours worked will be a 9 Day Fortnight and 36.25 hours worked per week.

Duties Include:
  • Providing technical support and performing maintenance duties.
  • Ensuring availability and reliability of processing plant and equipment.
  • Actively contributing to team performance by sharing information and participating in workgroup problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Supporting and encouraging other members of the workgroup.
 

Experience & Qualifications
  • The successful applicant will hold an Electrical Fitter Mechanic trade certificate, or an Electrical Fitter Mechanic/Instrumentation dual trade certificate.  
  • Applicants who are studying or have an Associate diploma or equivalent experience would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working in a heavy industry environment, experience in actuators, instrumentation (transmitters, pressure switches and thermocouples) and Cathodic Protection Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience to interrogate and interpret Programme Logic Control (Allen Bradley PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (Foxboro DCS) with the ability to identify improvements and follow through to completion via a change management process. 
  • Knowledge and experience in power station operation, problem solving knowledge and a proven ability in applying investigative techniques. 
  • An understanding of workplace health and safety, and the ability to promote and maintain a safe work environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and understanding of risk management principles. 
  •  Successful completion of a drug and alcohol test and pre-employment medical.
