An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Environment and Community Advisor to join our dynamic and successful team. Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager, your key responsibility will be to develop, implement and continuously improve the management systems that underpin the mine's environmental and community performance. In this position, you will provide advice and support to line managers, staff, employees, and contractors to ensure that our commitments to environmental and social responsibility are included in the day-to-day consideration and strategic development of the mine.
Managing compliance with regulatory environmental requirements, Glencore Standards and Mine Standards is imperative, along with identifying and managing community and other stakeholders' expectations and relationships. Specifically, you will also be responsible for maintaining current environmental systems (including monitoring and reporting), Biodiversity Offset Management, Pest Management, Air Quality Management, Community & Stakeholder Engagement, Cultural Heritage, Ground Disturbance activities (operations and exploration) and contractor management. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to assist in the ongoing development of Hail Creek Open Cut's environmental management systems.
Your background will include tertiary qualifications in Applied Science, Environmental Science or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, enabling you to provide a high level of technical expertise and support to the operation. Proven experience in environmental management, a solid understanding of Environmental legislation and community liaison is essential, your visible leadership and strong influential communication skills will be vital in your continuous interaction with employees and contractors. Mining industry experience is highly desirable but not essential.
