Estimator

Job Description

We are currently seeking an Estimator to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success. The successful candidate will have a trade background and training will be provided as required.

As an Estimator at Upton Engineering and Manufacturing, you will be responsible for estimating a variety of jobs for our manufacturing facility and may include some project planning. You will be required to liaise and communicate with workshop staff in the organisation as well as customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with customers and suppliers 
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including breakdowns of labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and other relevant expenses.
  • Compile and complete quotes for existing and new customers
  • Raise job cards
  • Continuously update and maintain an ERP of cost information, supplier pricing, and subcontractor rates.
  • Conduct reviews of completed jobs
  • Adhere to quality management procedures
  • Contribute to business development activities and sourcing new customers 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and changes in material costs to ensure accurate cost estimates.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Boilermaker/ Mechanical Engineer trade/knowledge essential
  • Estimating experience in similar industry
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
