2026 Crushing Season Factory/Operator Vacancies
About the Role
Seasonal employment opportunities have become available for the 2026 cane crushing season at Mackay Sugar. The season is expected to run from early June and will end approximately December 2026. Mackay Sugar is particularly eager to receive applications from people who have a passion for the Sugar Industry and have a strong desire to see the local industry thrive.
Factory Positions
- Fugal Operator
- Yard Attendant (Cane Receiving)
- Effet/Clarification Plant Attendant
- Process Attendant - Forklift Ticket Required
- Day Cleaner (Day Shift)
These positions report to the Shift Supervisor and are responsible for the efficient and effective operation of both mobile & fixed plant support equipment within and associated with the Factory; as well as maintaining housekeeping standards within the relevant work area.

- Adequate mechanical aptitude
- A current and valid Australian Driver’s License.
- Must Hold Full working rights within Australia
- Ability and willingness to work shift work - we are a 24/7 Operation during the Crushing Season
- An adequate level of physical fitness, such as lifting and carrying objects, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Availability for duration of crushing season.
