As part of our continued growth across the Bowen Basin, we are seeking skilled and motivated Field Service Technicians to join our team and support our expanding fleet of lighting towers in the region.

 

About the Role
As a Field Service Technician with Mickala Lighting Towers, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our lighting tower fleet. Working on-site and in the field, you’ll diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently. You'll be the face of Mickala for our clients, delivering professional service and technical support while upholding the quality and reliability that defines our product. Your role is key to maintaining customer satisfaction, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to the continued growth of our business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on lighting towers

  • Work closely with crew technicians, supervisors, and support staff to coordinate tasks and meet service targets

  • Deliver high-quality, responsive service to clients, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment performance

  • Promote a positive team environment by actively contributing to a culture of collaboration, support, and shared success

  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and promote Mickala’s products and solutions

  • Uphold strong safety standards by following all site procedures, completing job safety assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, suggesting solutions, and contributing to best practices

  • Maintain detailed service records and report on work completed, faults identified, and parts used

 

Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Auto Electrical highly regarded

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Commitment to safety and experience working in mine site or high-risk environments

  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to travel or work on-site as needed
