We manage projects from our impressive Mackay-based workshop and provide on-site maintenance services for both planned and breakdown projects throughout the Bowen Basin, Queensland.


About the Role

As Finance Manager, you’ll play a central role in supporting business growth and ensuring financial sustainability. You’ll be responsible for strategic financial management, statutory compliance, and corporate governance, while also leading a cross-functional team across Finance, HR, and Admin.

This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact – perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to Finance, HR, Admin, and Project Admin teams.

  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.

  • Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, ATO regulations, and accounting standards.

  • Drive cost optimisation, cashflow management, and strategic financial planning.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and governance frameworks.

  • Support HR functions including onboarding, recruitment, and performance reviews.

  • Oversee administration and office operations, including procurement, systems, and process improvement.

  • Maintain financial and project systems (e.g., MYOB, JAQ) and support ISO9001 compliance.

  • Liaise with auditors, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders.


What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar (CPA or equivalent desirable).

  • Proficient in job costing in a manufacturing environment

  • 5–10 years' experience in Finance, HR, and Administration leadership.

  • Strong understanding of Australian statutory and tax requirements.

  • Proven experience managing payroll, cash flow, and financial reporting.

  • Strong leadership skills – able to inspire, manage, and mentor cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

  • Experience in mining services or engineering industries (highly regarded).

  • Proficient in MYOB, Excel, and other business management software.
