Job Description

IPA are looking for Fitters for our clients workshop based in Rockhampton.

Our client is a large civil business with a busy workshop servicing a variety of equipment from light vehicles to trucks and plan.

Immediate starts are available and the position will be full time hours, Monday to Friday.

We have a variety of lengths available from short term from 2-5 weeks, to longer term roles as well.

Key Daily Duties:

  • Mechanical Repairs: Conducting repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment, including diagnosing faults, replacing worn or damaged parts, and testing equipment functionality.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Performing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity, including lubrication, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Troubleshooting: Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues, using diagnostic tools and techniques to pinpoint problems and implement solutions.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations while performing mechanical work, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and parts usage for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and technicians, to coordinate work schedules, share information, and achieve departmental goals.

Skills/Competencies/Person Description:

  • Demonstrated experience as a fitter / mechanical trade
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
