  • Permanent Full Time
  •  Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • $39.47- $41.81 (LGIA Stream C Level C10 – C8 + Site + Tool Allowance) + Superannuation
  •  Location – Rockhampton

Council is currently recruiting for a qualified Fitter & Turner to undertake repairs and maintenance on a wide range of Council assets, both fixed & mobile, including earthmoving equipment, pumps, combustion motors, landscape equipment, and street sweeping plant.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

 

What we are looking for

  • Manufacturing, assembly and machining of parts and equipment from raw materials
  • Cutting, drilling, welding & grinding of various materials to complete tasks in the estimated time frames.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining plant equipment both hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Other general administration duties related to recording your work

Application Criteria

  • Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter & Turner
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of fixed & mobile mechanical plant & equipment including servicing, welding, fabrication, and infield repairs
  • Safety First attitude, with experience in completing regular written risk assessments for daily tasks.
