Freight, Airline Baggage Handling and Check In

WINKEL Aviation Services has multiple vacancies across Qantas Freight, Qantas Baggage Handling and Qantas Customer Service Agent at our Rockhampton Regional Airport operation.  We're after highly motivated candidates seeking work in an exciting, fast paced environment.  The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of Airline operations. Your duties may include all, or some of the following:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Freight - handling incoming and outgoing freight including loading and unloading aircraft, manifesting and processing of Qantas air freight cargo. 

• Qantas Baggage Handling Agent - marshalling aircraft onto parking bays, unloading, loading baggage and freight, operating aircraft service equipment including aircraft stairs, tow vehicles and passenger assistance devices.

• Customer Service Agent - meeting and greeting customers, boarding and disembarking flights, assisting our special need customers, problem solving and providing information for customers.

To be successful in this position you must have the following:

• Employees must hold a current state drivers license.

• Employees must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Clearance (ASIC).

• Ability to travel for initial training.

• Willing to work a rotating shift work roster over 7 days AM PM and some split shifts.

• Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

• Whilst all training is provided, previous experience with airline systems would be advantageous.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

• A mature approach when dealing with customers requiring special needs.

• Work without direct supervision and posses great time management skills.

• Impeccable grooming and presentation.

• Ability to work safely and adhere to safe work practices.

• To be physically fit and able to lift a maximum of 32kg repetitively. 

• Accept responsibility, make decisions, and take initiatives.

• Treat our people with the same respect with which they are expected to treat passengers.
