About the role

This is a full-time opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station.

The Fuel and CCP (Coal Combustion Products) Specialist manages the fuel requirements for Stanwell Power Station’s production and support assets. In addition, the position provides advice to the Strategic Ops Implementation Manager, on station related matters that influence production risk and fuel procurement strategy.

This role is also pivotal in managing conflicting operational priorities that may restrict the volume and quality of Coal Combustion Products (CCPs) made available for off-take.

Key activities include:

  • Ensure certainty of supply of fuel - Manage the coal and liquid fuel storage and ordering processes to meet production needs and broader business objectives as well as develop and implement solutions to address supply constraints and issues.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the fuel supply and CCP sales chain and represent Stanwell at key regional and local committees and groups.
  • Provide the operational support required to facilitate the effective off-taking of CCPs and the expansion of new customer opportunities.
  • Use established networks and relationships to engage key stakeholders to effect change to improve operational aspects of fuel management and CCP commercialisation.
  • Manage and administer new and existing contracts in the coal/fuel oil procurement and transport as well as CCP sales areas by ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Contractor Management – Liaise with rail and transport services providers on performance issues, freight incentives, invoicing and scheduling.

About you

  • Associate degree/Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Business Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Commitment to workplace, health and safety management, environmental, management, compliance management, quality assurance and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience in maintaining governance and reporting systems that manage high-value inventory.
  • Experience building strategic relationships with internal and external suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • High level knowledge of the coal mining industry in the Central Queensland area and highly developed networks within this area.
