 About us

The Mackay Golf Club seeks a passionate and experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to help with our day-to-day food and beverage operations. This role will also include the preparation and delivery of weddings, corporate functions and special events. The ideal candidate is a team player who comes with general food and beverage experience as well as function coordination. 

We are a busy club that offers daily services to our members and guests while they enjoy a round of golf. Most shifts are completed by 7pm, however we do open for dinner on Friday nights and operate late for weddings & special events. Work will be 38 hours per week and will include rostered weekends. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a bar and or bistro.
  • Responsible service of alcohol certificate
  • Stock control experience
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Swift POS advantageous
  • Food Handling Certificate

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To have supervisory control of all Bar and kitchen Operations. Work closely with the Hospitality Manager to provide a high standard of operation of the Mackay Golf Club. including allocation of duties, preparation of rosters, approval of overtime, employee counselling.
  • Conduct all Opening, Operating and Closing duties as per written procedures and assist in planning & implementing improved work procedures.
  • Supervise staff including, allocation of duties and assist in training staff.
  • Participate in stocktake and stock control procedures.
  • Prepare and store food ensuring stock rotation and control is maintained.
  • Supervise other employees, kitchen & F&B staff, as required.
  • Assist in maintaining POS system. (Swift POS)
  • Assist with invoicing and ordering of stock where required.
  • Further participate in ongoing training where required or new tasks required of you.
  • Check and supervise quality of services, hygiene, and safety arrangements.
  • Check, organise and implement security procedures.
