About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced full-time Generalist Solicitor to join the team. In this position, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality legal services to our diverse client base. Work in a collaborative and supportive environment, where you can further develop your skills and expertise in the legal field.
As a Generalist Solicitor with the CQCLC, you will advise on a broad range of legal matters including family law and domestic violence, criminal, civil disputes, child protection, and other areas of law as they arise, or are identified as a community need.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:

Providing direct client services including legal advice, ongoing casework and representation, information and referrals.

Responsible for case management, maintaining confidentiality of client files and documentation.

Identifying, developing, organising and delivering quality community education work, awareness raising, networking and promotional work.

To maintain knowledge of current legislation and cases, to ensure sound and accurate advice is provided to clients.

Liaise with the Principal Solicitor/CEO providing regular updates and recommendations in relation to advice clinics and case files.
About You
Along with your strong work ethic and experience in a similar role, you'll have/be:

A degree in Law and a current practising certificate from the Queensland Law Society

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Solicitor, preferably in a generalist legal practice

A current C Class drivers licence and a Blue Card

Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Ability to travel within Central Queensland

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Being fair, respectful and engaging with all stakeholders without discrimination

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to providing exceptional client service

Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and court procedures
