About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Branch Manager to join our team at Gladstone. Reporting to General Manager Branch Operations – QLD, this role will be responsible for managing the business performance of the Gladstone Branch in accordance with Toyota Material Handling Australia’s (TMHA’s) business plan and strategic direction.  The incumbent will require to perform in a manner consistent with Toyota’s core values, management philosophy and code of conduct and ensure that the Gladstone Branch achieves its KPI’s and targets.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the leadership and direction of the Gladstone branch and its employees.
  • Provide visible leadership which supports and encourages individual and team accountability, ensuring safety principles are embedded into the culture and an inherent requirement of operations and safety risks are controlled and compliance is achieved.
  • Drive a Made for More and ensure to foster a life-long learning philosophy.
  • Participate and support TMHA’s Business through meeting Branches Business Plan outcomes.
  • Ensure that the Branch and TMHA’s legal obligations and liabilities are met and business, financial and operational risks are managed.
  • Manage the development of systems and processes, ensuring compliance with legal and due diligence obligations.
  • Apply appropriate risk management processes to ensure the operational security of the business and its’ operations.
  • Contribute to the strategic decision making as a part of the TMHA Management Team.
  • Solicit new Sales business.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with new and existing customers, always searching for ways to maximise our growth opportunities for all TMHA products and services.
  • Anticipate and respond promptly to market needs and trends.
  • Identify and develop strategies which add value to the industry.
  • Ensure the financial integrity of the operation to meet shareholder objectives.
  • Provide the business with a common vision and focus to meet its business objectives.
  • Ensure that the business is a valued and responsible corporate citizen and meets Community, Government and Customer expectations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong material handling experience is desirable.
  • Management and supervisory experience within a service and sales operations
  • Proven experience with dispute resolution and dealing with performance issues.
  • Experience in presenting and reporting information to the executive team.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and has the initiative and ability to motivate staff.
  • Strong ability to negotiate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Ability to liaise with various stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills utilising business software applications and service operations components of ERP system
